IRAQI NEWBORN

At his first breath of life
the newborn was ripped away
The murder of this tiny child
shows cruel hearts in decay

God help his grieving mother
her new baby dead at her side
And embrace his father too
neither have a place to hide

Burning tears gently fall
as a rain from distant cloud
Tears throughout the universe
descend to baby's shroud

Deception and justification
the distractions used to confuse
An insatiable lust for power
by criminals who stand accused

Our Love remains with those
who awaken to this living hell
We pray that God give them peace
in our hearts their Loved ones dwell

We search to find forgiveness
for the murder of baby so new
His first breath of life they stole
before his tender heart grew.
