KILLING FIELDS OF SUDAN

Oh the agony and sorrow immense
more than any human can bear
Such murderous evil wickedness
in killing fields unjust they dare

Again! priorities of resource greed
and sanctions threatened once more
Yet innocents die by the thousands
in displays of blood-thirsty gore

A government annihilates its own
by starvation and murder we see
This barbaric side of humanity's soul
uncovers its darkest degree

Villages burned and children raped
no escape from their hideous fate
A racially motivated hell on earth
annihilates innocents by hate

Some say it's an election ploy
to divert and distract again
but who are those to buy silence
for the killing fields insane?

Aid pours in for the Sudanese
but how will it help them now
Remember the horrors of the Congo
surpassed only, by the silence vow?

Great pain in the horror of suffering
for children who scream in the night
God help them through this nightmare
make free from their gruesome plight.
