Lasting Love

O great giver of lasting Love
HE who carries our dreams
Our champion of Love so indwells
we turn from all wayward schemes

Together in a lingering moment
and between every breath we take
In our tears of joy and sadness
every prayer for HIM we make

Embraced by HIS loving arms
God's children on bended knee
Through every step of our learning
HIS gift of Love roams free

The adored ONE, ever present
HIS eyes see the agony of shame
For there by the hand of humanity
lie the innocents so brutally slain

HE forgives our error thought
Great Love for us HE imparts
This Love within the Christ child
reigns eternal in our hearts

Our focus turns now to the giver
for HIS sake all wars must cease
We surrender to the giver of Love
for in HIM we find lasting Peace

O great giver of lasting Love
to YOU we give all praise
O beloved there's only YOU
to YOU, we turn our gaze.
