| Tender is the night
in May When roses fold in sleep And thorns stand guard as sentinels Until the morning dew will weep Fragrant is the salty sea When waves wash upon the shore Tears that cleanse deserted beach Together, yet alone once more Sweet is the evening air When the moon lingers high above And nearby stars enchant the sky Like lovers when they fall in Love Lovely is the tiny child Whose smile brings all such joy The innocence found on the face Of every little girl and boy Beautiful, too, is the soul And heart so full with light Great passion surely dwells within That a spark may soon ignite. |
