Dearest Beloved

Show us blue skies of light
and Your sun's golden rays
Show us the way to heaven's door
out of our earthly maze

Show us why catastrophe
steals children's lives away
Show us what You'd have us learn
about our structures in decay

Show us the path to goodness
to Love that's born of grief
Show us clearly the heart of You
in our stay however brief

Show us why salty tears must join
raging waters from a quake
Show us why it's the poor and weak
whose lives You oft forsake

Show us the reasons for these things
strengthen our Love and devotion
Help us to show Your Love
amidst the horror and commotion

Show us the answers that we seek
to questions plaguing us now
Show us at last, Your path to peace
when Love becomes our vow.
